Pharmacology books online and other drug and pharmacy resources online can
be very useful to pharmacy technicians and the general population that may be
interested in learning more about drugs and the impact they have on the human
body.
Fortunately, living in the internet age, there are many ways to get access to
pharmacology information. There are books available on Amazon.com, e-books available
on various websites and informational dvd's and cd's. These resources all provide
great pharmacology information and many are free !
Pharmacology Resources Online
- www.rxmed.com - This is a very comprehensive online resource containing
pages of information for many commonly used presecriptions and drugs. Contains
clinical trial information, indications and clinical uses, contra-indications,
manufacturers' warnings, drug interactions and much more.
- www.rxlist.com - includes chemical structural formulas, dose and
administration information, side effects at various dosage levels, drug interactions,
warnings and precautions...literally pages of information for each drug and
prescription.
- nccam.nih.gov - this is the National Institute of Health reference for
complementary and alternative medicine (CAM). It has clinical trials and research
information for alternative drugs and herbal remedies.
- www.safemedication.com - this is the American Society of Health-System
Pharmacists’ site. It offers a user-friendly way to easily get information about
safely using medicine and prescriptions. They have a searchable drug information
database that is based on the ASHP's AHFS Consumer Medication Information.

considerations for pregnant women, trade and generic formulations and more. Available
