Pharmacy Technician Math covers a range of math tasks. As a Pharmacy Tech, you will be required to perform general math tasks on a regular basis. You should be comfortable with the basic operations of addition and subtraction, multiplication and division including whole numbers, decimals and fractions. You will also need to be able to compute prices, percentages, lengths and times. You should understand how to obtain numerical data from graphs, charts, and tables.
The real life application of having such skills might include tasks such as calculating how to reduce or enlarge formulas or prescriptions, or performing conversions from specific units of measurement to other units of measurement.

Pharmacy Technicians are in great demand. The U.S. Department of Labor predicts that employment opportunities for this field will increase much faster than other fields. In fact, they expect the jobs for Pharmacy Techs to increase by 31 percent from 2008 to 2018.
